As creatives, we do not always have the luxury of shooting high budget commercial, especially when you are home.So...practice with what you have.
This photo was taken on a Sony A7iii. Its sole purpose was to highlight the Pop, and I found it while roaming my garage. It is essential to understand in these harsh circumstances, and you must use whatever is at your disposal. This shoot required three things, outside the box thinking, a camera and a light source.
Here is where it gets interesting
Whether you can get creative at will (I sure do can't) or you are someone that requires a little more time to do so. You should trust in the power of serendipity. We all understand the power of serendipity. Little "ta-dah' moments; as I grabbed the canned the pop and prepared to exit the location, I noticed an empty container of cheesy puffs. So the first thought that came to mind was, " I am going to use this," so grabbed it and filled it with water. And voila, that's how fast the concept came.
Overcome Creative Block
IF it harder for you to get creative in your own home, do like me. Go into a room filled with visually stimulating objects, (maybe it is your garage, or it is your basement or living room), stop, and look around. I guarantee you will find an object that catches your eye and the pieces will start to connect just in time for you to shoot.
Creating Relevant Content for social media?
If you are a content creator, DO NOT WORRY ABOUT SOCIAL MEDIA. It might be tougher on you to get creative, knowing that you are creating for someone else. Relax your mind and focus on the story and image you are trying to create. It essential to understand that an exercise like this can increase your level of creativity. Thus when you do get to go outside in the real world, you will have masted a new skill and sharpened your creative eye. Think about it.
Be original, show off your style, and tell your story.
I can not sit here and tell you this will be easy because, for me, it was not easy at all. However, it was about more than that. It was about overcoming limitations and telling a story with what I could. There were many failed attempts at getting this shot, but it was worth it overall because I did not give up.
